MONTPELIER — Longtime Associated Press bureau chief Chris Graff was dismissed without warning Monday morning, and company officials remain tight-lipped about what prompted the move.
The news was delivered to Graff in person during a morning meeting, and then immediately after to the Vermont bureau staff in Montpelier, said Larry Laughlin, the AP’s northern New England bureau chief and Graff’s boss. Laughlin drove up from his office in Concord, NH, to deliver the news.
Laughlin declined to say what prompted Graff’s removal. Attempts to reach Graff at his Montpelier home were unsuccessful.
