WILLISTON — Republican Congressional hopeful Martha Rainville raked in the majority of her quarterly campaign haul from political action committees tied to the top GOP leaders in the House, according to campaign records filed Friday.

Of the $218,972 that Rainville raised as of March 31, nearly $130,000 came from PACs or political party donations, the records show. She raised less than $90,000 from individuals, according to papers on file with the Federal Elections Commission.

Topping the list are the leadership PACs of House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-IL, whose Keep Our Majority PAC contributed $10,000; his own reelection committee kicked in another $4,000. In addition, Rainville took in nearly $15,000 from the Retain Our Majority PAC, founded more than seven years ago former, Rep. Tom DeLay, R-TX. who has been indicted on charges of laundering corporate campaign contributions in local elections, a violation of Texas law. On April 4, DeLay announced that he was resigning his House seat and would not seek reelection.
